Case Study | O&M Empowers Bank of China’s Digital Transformation
I. Project Background
1. Customer Profile
The client of this case is a municipal branch of Bank of China.
2. Pain Point Analysis
Against the backdrop of accelerated digital transformation in the financial industry, the client’s data center system architecture has grown increasingly complex, with ever-rising demands for business diversity and service continuity. There is an urgent need for a high-efficiency, intelligent operation and maintenance (O&M) monitoring platform to enhance O&M management capabilities and achieve the goals of “visualized O&M, digitalized management, and data-driven decision-making”.
Leveraging its profound technical accumulation and tailored solutions, Lerwee Monitoring successfully built an intelligent monitoring platform for the client, comprehensively addressing the bank’s O&M pain points and empowering high-quality business development.
II. Lerwee’s Solution
1. Full-Stack IT Asset Management & Control Capability, Enabling “Comprehensive Coverage” of O&M Monitoring
Faced with the client’s large and diverse IT asset ecosystem, Lerwee Monitoring demonstrated robust full-dimensional management and control capabilities, realizing comprehensive inventory and centralized management of all types of software and hardware equipment, eliminating monitoring blind spots, and laying a solid foundation for subsequent O&M work.

At the host monitoring layer, Lerwee Monitoring provides centralized monitoring for multiple systems including RedHat, Windows, AIX, and HMC. Tailored monitoring solutions are offered based on the characteristics of different systems. For example, it accurately monitors AIX small machine LPAR information, JFS file systems, errpt log data, and LVM information, while also covering HMC data resource management, firewall status, and application service monitoring, ensuring full visibility and controllability of host operating status.
In terms of network device monitoring, it supports management and monitoring of mainstream brands such as H3C, Huawei, and F5. For instance, it not only monitors key F5 metrics including tier division, active-standby status, configuration synchronization, active connection count, and pool status, but also enables SDN-spine and SDN-leaf monitoring, completes syslog docking of network devices, and displays daily inspection reports. In addition, through various link detection methods such as NQA and SQA, as well as login interaction detection, it fully captures network link connectivity, speed, packet loss rate, and utilization rate, ensuring stable network operation.
Lerwee Monitoring also excels in virtualization, database, middleware, storage, and server storage monitoring:
- Virtualization monitoring covers platforms like FusionComputer and WinHong Virtualization, tracking the status of clusters, management consoles, storage devices, hosts, and virtual machines, while enabling platform alarm docking and resource correlation status monitoring.
- Database monitoring supports types such as Dameng, GaussDB, TDSQL, and Credis, with capabilities to track SQL ranking, redo log status, database DataGuard status, and log synchronization progress.
- Middleware monitoring includes Nginx, RabbitMQ, and Tomcat, providing real-time visibility into console data collection, connection count, health status, thread pool status, and server status.
- Storage monitoring utilizes specialized tools for data query of MacroSAN storage and AISHU backup software.
- Server storage monitoring collects IBMC information via SNMP to monitor the health status, hardware conditions, and resource data of devices from brands such as Inspur, Lenovo, H3C, and Inspur Trusted.
2. Refined Management & Permission Configuration Capability, Building a “Security Lock” for the System
To ensure the security and confidentiality of the bank’s IT systems, Lerwee Monitoring has established a refined management and permission configuration system, implementing multi-layer safeguards from tag-based management to multi-dimensional permission allocation, ensuring stable and controllable system operation.
Tag-based management facilitates rapid search, classification, and documentation of massive user information, significantly improving information management efficiency. It also supports object grouping functionality, enabling classification, sorting, retrieval, and batch deletion of monitoring objects, bringing order to complex IT asset management.
In user management and permission configuration, Lerwee Monitoring demonstrates high flexibility. The user management module supports comprehensive management of information including login ID, mobile number, WeChat account, password, role, validity period, and login permissions, as well as role-based authorization for users. Permission configuration covers all functional modules such as statistical reports, homepage, alarms, and monitoring objects, with classification settings based on administrator levels. Permission control is implemented from multiple dimensions including projects, users, and roles, effectively preventing information leakage and unauthorized operations, and safeguarding the security of the bank’s IT systems.

3. Intelligent Alarm & Knowledge Base Support Capability, Enabling “Rapid Response” to Faults
Timely detection and efficient resolution of faults are the core of O&M work. With second-level intelligent alarms and a built-in expert knowledge base, Lerwee Monitoring has established a rapid-response fault handling mechanism, significantly improving O&M efficiency.
Second-level intelligent alarms support customizable alarm policies, including alarm grading and convergence settings. Combined with fault snapshot and dynamic baseline functions, it can accurately capture fault information. Meanwhile, the platform can quickly integrate with multiple notification tools such as WeChat, email, and SMS, ensuring O&M personnel receive alarm notifications promptly and intervene in fault handling immediately.
In addition, the platform is equipped with a built-in expert knowledge base, allowing O&M staff to record fault handling methods in the system. Through algorithm-based automatic matching, these experiences are linked to the alarm list, providing reference for handling similar alarms in the future. The knowledge base supports like and dislike functions, and the matching algorithm is continuously optimized based on user feedback to improve the accuracy of experience matching. This helps O&M personnel quickly locate faults, formulate solutions, and ensure the long-term stable operation of business systems.

4. Customizable Inspection Reports with Scheduled Email Delivery
The intelligent O&M inspection report function supports customized inspection cycles and time points, enabling daily checks on key metrics such as CPU usage rate, memory usage rate, interface receive/transmit traffic, fan speed, computer room temperature, and computer room backup lighting. After the inspection is completed, the system automatically generates reports and sends them to the designated personnel’s email inboxes, greatly saving manual inspection time, improving O&M efficiency, and transforming O&M work from “passive response” to “proactive prevention”.
III. Customer Benefits
By deploying the Lerwee Intelligent Monitoring Platform, the bank client has not only achieved technological upgrades but also gained tangible value improvements in O&M management, security assurance, and business support:
- Qualitative leap in O&M system: Through intelligent O&M methods such as comprehensive IT asset inventory, full-stack monitoring, and real-time alarms, a sound and flexible mature O&M system has been successfully established, completely replacing the traditional “fire-fighting” O&M model.
