Case Interpretation: O&M System Construction for Listed Mfg. Enterprise
PART 01 Project Background
01 Customer Introduction
The customer in this case is an A-share listed enterprise, with its headquarters located in a province in Southwest China. It has nearly 10,000 employees, more than 20 holding companies and joint-stock companies across the country. Its products are sold well in more than 100 countries and regions around the world, and it has been awarded the title of “Top 500 Private Enterprises in China’s Manufacturing Industry”.
02 Background Introduction
With the continuous advancement of informatization construction, the scale of the customer’s information system has been expanding, its business has been growing, and the difficulty of information management has been increasing. Therefore, it has become an inevitable development trend to conduct real-time monitoring of various hardware equipment, networks, databases, middleware, virtualization, business systems, etc., and build an IT monitoring visualization system, a CMDB (Configuration Management Database) asset system, and an event platform. This is to ensure the stability and reliability of the basic architecture, improve the fault response speed, the work efficiency of operation and maintenance personnel, and their ability to handle problems, so as to guarantee the smooth development of various businesses.
PART 02 Lewei Solution
01 Solution Overview
This project advocates building a complete intelligent operation and maintenance monitoring platform, a unified asset management platform, and an event platform as an integrated operation and maintenance system. It realizes panoramic monitoring coverage of operating systems, databases, network equipment, middleware, containers, and cloud platforms. Through the unified asset management platform, efficient asset management is achieved. At the same time, alarm events from the third-party dynamic environment platform are integrated into the event platform, realizing more comprehensive monitoring and event management capabilities.
- Establish an information service monitoring system platform based on the current advanced architecture and solutions in the industry;
- Possess comprehensive data collection capabilities for the underlying hardware and software;
- Realize functions such as performance monitoring, fault alarm, statistical report, asset management, and flexible configuration;
- Establish and improve the performance thresholds of enterprise IT-related resource equipment and the alarm sending mechanism;

02 Overall Architecture
① The platform adopts a unified architecture design, with the underlying layer based on a flexible process engine and CMDB, which can provide complete integrated operation and maintenance management functions.
② The platform uses a unified database, specifically a relational database, to ensure system performance and platform stability.
③ The platform has a reasonable architecture, adopting a hierarchical and modular design, and the coupling design of each module is reasonable.
④ The platform adopts a three-level management mode of organization, role, and user. User permissions are controlled through roles to ensure the rationality of permission allocation.
⑤ The platform provides multiple authentication methods such as AD (Active Directory) and LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol).
⑥ The platform provides standard external integration interfaces, enabling seamless connection with mainstream monitoring and operation and maintenance platforms.
⑦ The platform provides a full-Chinese graphical interface, which is user-friendly, simple, and easy to use.

PART 03 Key Points of Project Construction
01 Panoramic Monitoring
Based on full-stack monitoring capabilities, a unified monitoring platform is built to realize panoramic monitoring coverage of operating systems, databases, network equipment, middleware, containers, and cloud platforms.

02 Alarm Integration
The event platform integrates alarm events from the third-party dynamic environment platform, realizing more comprehensive monitoring and event management capabilities.
03 Equipment Room View
The CMDB asset management system generates an equipment room view based on asset association information and can display alarms of corresponding equipment in the cabinet.
PART 04 Solution Value
- Reduce labor costs and enable operation and maintenance personnel to engage in work that is more valuable to the business.
- Quantify business systems and IT components, allowing operation and maintenance managers to clearly understand the current real data and status.
- Intelligently discover newly added equipment, potential risks, and risk trends, and predict possible performance bottlenecks in the future.
- Timely detect unavailability risks, provide early warnings for potential problems, and promptly notify operation and maintenance personnel to handle these risks, ensuring business availability.
- Transform passive operation and maintenance into active operation and maintenance, and gradually improve the credibility of IT.
PART 05 Customer Benefits
By building an intelligent operation and maintenance monitoring platform, a unified asset management platform, and an event platform, comprehensive IT infrastructure monitoring services are provided to the customer. These platforms can monitor the operating status of the operating system, the health of the database, the performance of network equipment, the application of middleware, the resource usage of containers, and the service quality of the cloud platform in real time. This panoramic monitoring coverage helps the customer discover and solve potential problems in a timely manner, ensuring business continuity and stability.
In addition, the implementation of the unified asset management platform has improved the efficiency of asset management and maintenance, enabling the customer to track and manage its IT assets more effectively, thereby reducing costs and optimizing resource allocation. By integrating alarm information from the third-party dynamic environment platform, this solution has enhanced the capabilities of monitoring and event management, further improving the customer’s operational efficiency and response speed.
In conclusion, this project has significantly improved the customer’s IT operation and maintenance capabilities and asset management level, bringing higher business reliability and economic benefits.
